  I’m in the process of buying a used car from a private seller in Texas and want to make sure I handle the title transfer correctly. I’ve heard it’s super important to get everything right to avoid issues with registration or future ownership disputes.

  I’ve got a few questions:

  • What documents do I need to complete a title transfer?

  • Is it better to go through the DMV or use a title service like Swift Auto Title?

  • Do both the buyer and seller need to be present?
