Any new professional journey can appear to be a trial by fire. In August 2020, Azeem went through induction as he began his stint as Junior Research Analyst at Gangour Facility Management. Freshly out of college, brimming with enthusiasm, and savoring that 'unknown' for the very first time, he treaded the uncertainty with a determined and inquisitive mind. The next four years would give Azeem a whirlpool ride of success and failures, which would teach him lessons to help him move ahead in his life. Here is the wonderful journey of Azeem-
Chapter 1: Early Life @ Gangour Facility Management
Azeem was lucky to be on board as a Junior Research Analyst at Gangour facility management, where he met the actual world of market research and client reaching out. He learned to gauge industry trends, understand who to target for potential clients, and even how to tackle cold outreach, an intimidating task for a new man. Of course, he encountered setbacks at the beginning, and he gradually realized that there was an element of personalization, strength, and resilience in succeeding with outreach. He found his niche in reaching out to clients authentically through trial and error, eventually providing the base of his future in research and analytics.
Although the time at Gangour was challenging at some point in time, Azeem's stint there turned out to be absolutely transformative. He was challenged, and his communication and research skills were stretched to great lengths. He had done six months and wanted to shift after that. With the experiences he acquired, he wished to take his career ahead at some other place.
Chapter 2: Growth and Realizations at Arcgate
In February 2021, Azeem joined Arcgate as a research analyst, wherein the stakes were higher, and the environment was more demanding. Such an entity presented more complex tasks and a rigid work culture that quickly revealed itself. Juniors strictly followed the rules, whereas the senior employees could bend them to their will. The lack of camaraderie among colleagues made the workplace feel isolating.
But Azeem got a brief respite in the COVID-19 lockdown through work-from-home. During those months, he found some of his hobbies and managed a relatively healthier work-life balance. And he took an eye for work-life balance - a lesson that stayed long after the days of work from home were done.
Chapter 3: We Must Move On When Adversity Calls
Back to Office: It was May 2022, and Azeem had to return to office, but return pressure meant he got tossed back into the challenging work culture that seemed to be taking a toll on all its employees. Things were getting worse at Arcgate with new policies set on employees that imposed stricter control over their lives, including no mobile use in office hours. Morale had run dry; it was not right anymore for Azeem to be in such a place.
After some time, Azeem decided to put value on his health instead of job security and resigned from Arcgate. This tough decision freed him and got him committed towards finding work-places that value its employees.
Chapter 4: Lessons Learned and the Road Ahead
Looking back at four years of experience, Azeem identifies lessons learned through each of these challenges. From Gangour, he drew a positive amount of resilience and foundation in research work, whereas from Arcgate, he learned the importance of a healthy culture of work. He never lost focus and always maintained things in an office while sitting at home, and he never compromised his well-being to sit at a desk.
As Azeem moves forward, he is looking for a job that balances growth for himself with respect for the employees who create that growth, a supportive team, and knowledge of how one should always maintain a balance in life. His journey reminds us that a paycheck is only one representation of a job; it represents purpose, growth, and fulfillment.
Azeem's is a story of persistence, self-awareness, and courage. His own particular story reflects a universal struggle to find balance in the demanding world that men and women face in this age, and his determination to create for himself a fulfilling career path is sure to inspire others who seek a better future.
