My introduction to writing was unintentional. I never planned to write a book, but as I took notes on my father’s memoirs, the idea of transforming them into a book gradually took shape. My father, one of the first South Asian immigrants to arrive in 1950s England, has a story that must be told. I realized I was documenting the last voices of a intergenerational storytelling in India and Pakistan which significantly changed the course of life for future generations.
