World of Warcraft may not appear on mobiles

  • "Mobile is something that I believe we're all excited about WoTLK Gold. We all own mobile devices. We all own tablets. It's pretty common in the present," Brack said.

"We've tried a variety of things for World of Warcraft ] with tablets; we don't have a 'this is what that we believe to be the right thing for tablet.' We're keeping our eyes open for what is the ideal experience," he added.

One of the biggest challenges that comes with bringing World of Warcraft to mobiles is adapting the interface, Brack explained.

"The experience of using the interface can be very difficult on a tablet and very difficult on phone. It was not created to be played on a smartphone or device," Brack said. "So the idea is more like an idea which will arise rather than actually thinking about we're going reproduce an experience similar to the World of Warcraft experience on tablets."

World of Warcraft may not appear on mobiles any time soon, but another Blizzard game-- World of Warcraft --will be available on Android and iOS by the end of 2014 according to the developer today.

Blizzard has announced World of Warcraft 's fifth expansion today: Warlords of Draenor. For more details on the expansion, see P2Pah's breakdown of the upcoming cheap WoTLK Classic Gold expansion.Of of course, 7.4 million is still lower than World of Warcraft 's peak subscriber count of 12 million in 2010. It's impressive nonetheless for a game which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.
